First book in the series and our first look at Azelia, The Nefarious Dimension (The Chroncles of Telluris, Book 1) is an excellent first entry into this new world by Melissa Kellogg. We are thrust into the story with a scene as an angry teacher kicks her out of her class, and even though this is a different world, it has a lot of similarities to high school dramas.It's a coming of age story for a student who's friends begin to shun her, and she is left struggling to understand exactly what change and how she can return things to the way they were. It's written for a young audience and I think a lot of those audience members will be able to relate to friends who ditch them to try and be popular.
Meanwhile, a terrible necromancer is planning some nefarious deeds and threatening to bring them all down, and Azelia is the only chance they have to stop him...

The Nefarious Dimension (The Chronicles of Telluris) is a remarkable book. It’s written for the younger generation. It has a lot of connections to high school dramas. I truly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend.
I have had a chance to read the book through one of my friend and I am glad to recommend all of my friends to read this remarkable book. The Nefarious Dimension (The Chronicles of Telluris) is certainly incredibly well written book that meant to touch the hearts of young generation. it surely connects all the dots that goes around high school dramas.

While looking for something different to read, I came across The Nefarious Dimension (The Chroncles of Telluris, Book 1) by Melissa Kellogg. Though it was the cover design that first drew me to it, the description prompted my purchase.
The plot revolves around Azelia and her adventures in the mystical land of Dvasia, a place where evil lurks.
After being thrown out of class, she encounters a cat with the ability to talk telepathically to her. The cat reveals to Azelia the secret of how to travel to Dvasia, which she promptly does, and it is not long before she falls into the clutches of Mathias, a powerful necromancer whose intentions have an evil slant. Azelie must somehow battle Mattias and save the mystical realms.
This is a well written coming of age story aimed at teens and young adults with interesting characters that doesn't waste time in throwing its characters into the main plot of the story to keep the reader interested and turning the pages. The problems of growing up experienced by Azelie will find a connection with many of its readers this book is aimed at.
Though there are a few very long information rich paragraphs that I feel might read a little better split into smaller paragraphs, they did not distract from my reading enjoyment.
This book is good first installment of what promises to be an exciting series.
Melissa Kellogg is a talent! She has crafted a fantasy tale that will appeal to a wide-ranging audience.
Azelia is a very relatable young protagonist. She feels stifled by the repetitiveness of her life in Llorona Cliff on Telluris. She feels that her life lacks the adventure and excitement that she desperately craves. Enter Solara, a talking cat and guardian of Telluris. Solara explains to Azelia that the evil parallel dimension of Dvasia that Azelia had been taught about is not a myth as Azelia had assumed. It is indeed a real dimension, and it is consumed by evil. Solara explains to Azelia that a third dimension of light, Lumeris, exists side by side with Telluris and Dvasia and that Telluris provides the balance between Lumeris and Dvasia. Solara offers Azelia the adventure and excitement that she been longing for by whisking her away to Dvasia and explaining to her that she has been chosen to help maintain the balance in Telluris before the evil of Dvasia taints it forever.
This is a very imaginative first book in the Chronicles of Telluris series! I highly recommend it!
