JOYride How My Late Wife Loved Me Back To Life is an eLit Award winner -- silver medal for Best Inspirational / Spiritual Digital Book of 2011.
In his mind-blowing memoir about love, loss and life-after-death, I. J. Weinstock claims that his late wife healed his inconsolable grief by making love to him from the Afterlife!
Joy and Jerry were soulmates, in fact, they were literally a "match-made-in heaven" according to Joy's channeled memoir, Love Ever After. When Jerry lost Joy to breast cancer, he was devastated. Then a remarkable thing happened -- Joy began communicating with him from the Afterlife and led him on an incredible journey to heal his grief. Ultimately, like the final scene in the movie, Ghost, Joy found someone, a willing medium, through whom she literally loved him back to life.
"Most people will be shocked by our story. I can't blame them. I'd heard of life-after-death, but sex-after-death? If I hadn't experienced it myself, I wouldn't have believed it either. But this is a true story. It happened to me." ~ I. J. Weinstock, from the Introduction
JOYride is as fantastic a love story as the hit movie, Ghost, except it's REAL! This book will change the way you view life, death, love and what is possible.

I found Jerry Weinstock’s JOYRide healing and intriguing on different levels. It’s part soul mate love story memoir, part afterlife consciousness story, part (much-needed) sexual consciousness exploration, part grief therapy, and part insight on the healing power of touch. Some of the content in the book might challenge those not willing to see sex as healing or spiritual or not willing to accept communication with spirits and mediumship. I am not one of those people, so I found it a fascinating read, especially Jerry’s Journey of a Thousand Hugs and his Rites of Joy. I might add that unlike some readers here, I am not in deep grief. I noticed while reading this book that I am in a mild type of grief over the loss or minimizing of universal love in our world now that civility is in a decline. I would love to see society as a whole create venues (whether church, support groups, retreats, home gatherings, etc.) where humans can show love and caring for each other in a personally meaningful way. Jerry’s telling of his own journey helped reinforce that very positive vision. Grief comes in many forms, not just the obvious, and I found this book valuable reading (with lots of highlighting on my Kindle.)Product details

I knew/know Jerry and Joy. This book is about
an exceptional pairing of two very gifted individuals.
It is a celebration about life/partnership and death.
It is about how to heal and move forward and learn
the lessons in everything life offers. Jerry, congratulations!
Joy - congratulations!
This is a remarkable memoir of a man who has lost the love of his life - and her continued journey with him after death. "Joyride" is well written, dramatic and heart-centered. Jerry Weinstock is an excellent writer who takes you through his year of grief and loss without ever being maudlin or dull. To the contrary, "Joyride" is a great read for those interested in life after life, true love, grieving and healing, or just a fresh and compelling story.
"JOYride" is a remarkable book about love, grief and healing. I actually felt the presence of Joy at times while reading it, and felt an energetic shift in my own life during the course of the week that I read it. On a surface level, it reminded me of C.S. Lewis' "A Grief Observed", where he describes his working through of his grief at the loss of the love of his life, also named Joy. But whereas Mr. Lewis' experience was lived through a very Christian perspective, Jerry's journey of healing is spiritual without hewing to one tradition. In fact, he undergoes grief rituals from several traditions, as well as his own Rites of Joy, which can only be described as interdimensional. For many people this part of the story may be too paradigm-rocking. I encourage people to open their minds and hearts to what is possible, in our totalness as multidimensional beings.
This is an important book for the world at this time, as it shows that love (and consciousness) does not end with physical death. I salute Jerry for having the courage to write it.
My 23 year old son died. I knew from the first moment that I would have to find a light and a lifeline and hold on fast. Joyride came to me like a holy absolution, permission to heal knowing that my healing would open the door to a whole new realm of possibilities. I discovered Joyride and I am holding on fast.
In Jerry's relationship with Joy, after her "death", abstract concepts like eternity and infinity have a recognizable voice and presence in Joy, who reaches from somewhere beyond death to reclaim her beloved from grief and despair. Jerry discovers that Joy loves and still relates to him in a daily reliable exchange of thoughts, words and feelings both physical and emotional.
Joyride leaves me passionate to learn more about spirit and the infinite indestructible nature of love. Most importantly Joyride leaves me with the confidence that I can continue to have a relationship with my son, if I have the courage to embrace this new way of feeling and sensing, engaging and relating.
This is an amazing account of one very open hearted man living through the grief of losing his wife, Joy, to cancer. His story, although difficult for some to believe, speaks to the heart of everyone who has experienced inexplicable synchronicities after the passing of a loved one. His meticulous retelling of each phase of his journey in coming back to fully living his life after such a loss is touching, funny, moving and stunning at times.
I really enjoyed his storytelling in the way he linked the seasons of the year of her passing and his homage to his beloved, specifically in his listing of "Things you should know about Joy." And, I am always ready to celebrate when a man is strong enough in his own skin and in love enough to break the stereotype of middle aged men wanting younger women. (His wife was quite a bit older than him.)
Although this book is not really for those who need to be convinced of the afterlife, for those that believe it is an inevitable part of our spiritual path, his sharing this deeply human string of events so that we can all experience it vicariously, is much appreciated. This is a truly wonderful story that lingered with me for some time, especially since it resonated with some very personal experiences I've had with a loved one who passed.
